An authentic bilingual Montessori curriculum that promotes independence and a love for learning in every child.

The Montessori curriculum is designed to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment where groups of children of different ages come together in the classroom. This unique approach fosters peer-to-peer learning, allowing older children to support and mentor younger children. By working together, students develop important skills such as empathy, leadership, and collaboration, whilst increasing their understanding of a variety of topics.

This dynamic and inclusive atmosphere is the foundation of the Montessori philosophy, empowering children to learn from each other and grow together.

We bring to life the principles of this renowned teaching philosophy through the five avenues: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Culture.

  • Child wearing a striped apron holding a tray with a glass, white cup, cutting board, knife, and a bowl of orange.

    Practical Life

Practical Life focuses on nurturing independence, refining motor skills, and developing a sense of order and concentration.

Through purposeful activities such as pouring, sorting, and dressing themselves, children gain essential life skills, build confidence, and develop a strong foundation for future learning.

  • A young girl and an older woman are sitting on the floor of a classroom, engaging in an activity involving wooden blocks on a small white rug.

    Sensorial

The Sensorial component of our curriculum engages children's senses to explore and understand the world around them.

Through scientifically crafted materials, children develop their sensory perception, discrimination, and cognition.

They refine their senses of touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell, paving the way for a deeper understanding of concepts and the development of keen observation skills.

  • Display of colorful beaded jewelry hanging on shelves in a classroom or craft room with wooden furniture and a light-colored wall.

    Mathematics

Our Mathematics curriculum introduces children to foundational mathematical concepts in a concrete and hands-on manner.

Through manipulative materials, children engage in activities that develop number sense, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills.

They explore concepts such as quantities, numerals, patterns, and operations, fostering a strong mathematical foundation and a love for logical thinking.

    Language

Language development is at the heart of our Montessori curriculum and we uniquely offer both Arabic and English instruction in our classrooms. We offer a rich environment that encourages vocabulary expansion and acquisition, listening and expressive communication in both languages.

Through speech recognition activities, storytelling, reading, and writing experiences, children develop strong language skills, improve their verbal expression, and discover the joy of reading and writing.

Our bilingual approach sets us apart and ensures that our students are well-prepared to succeed in the global community.

  • Two small globes, one showing North and South America, and the other mostly Europe and Africa, placed on wooden stands on a desk. Several laminated educational cards with images and text, some in multiple languages, are arranged in wooden holders nearby.

    Culture

We wholeheartedly embrace the integration of local culture and values, recognizing their vital role in fostering global citizenship. Our curriculum is intentionally designed to place a strong emphasis on cultural awareness and appreciation. Through immersive cultural studies, children embark on a captivating journey, exploring diverse customs, traditions, geography, history, and the arts. By weaving local culture and values into our curriculum, we provide children with an opportunity to connect with their roots, fostering a sense of pride and belonging. This integration not only enriches their educational experience but also equips them with the tools to navigate an increasingly interconnected world with empathy and understanding.

Toddlers (ages 1-3)

Welcome to the Toddler Program at AlMayameen Montessori, where growth, curiosity, and cultural immersion come together to create a nurturing and enriching learning experience. Let us take you on a journey through a typical day in our program, where your little one will explore, learn, and develop holistically.

Each day begins with a warm welcome from our caring educators, helping toddlers transition smoothly into a day full of discovery. Through sensory exploration, language-rich environments, interactive experiences, practical life activities, and hands-on exploration of math and art, children build essential cognitive, motor, and social-emotional skills. Outdoor experiences on our nature-focused campus foster a connection to the environment and support physical development. At the end of each day your child will leave with an abundance of new knowledge and meaningful experiences that they will be very excited to share with you.

Casa (ages 3-6)

Welcome to our Casa Program, where young minds flourish on their educational journey. As children aged 3 to 6 transition from the Toddler Program, they embark on an exciting phase of growth and development.

In this crucial second part of the First Plane of development, where children possess a consolidating absorbent mind, we provide a rich array of materials and activities that align with their respective sensitive periods for learning. By nurturing their natural curiosity and supporting their mastery of the environment, we lay a strong foundation for their developmental growth and prepare them for future stages of learning.

Guided by the principles of Montessori pedagogy and with the support of our educators, older children begin to mentor the younger ones, creating a unique environment that promotes leadership and collaboration.

Each of our programs is led by both a Classical Arabic speaking guide and an English speaking guide. Our unique immersion approach to supporting language acquisition in this manner creates a multitude of opportunities to learn the richness of both languages in context.
